Make a toilet paper roll bat

Fruit bats are one of the most interesting creatures!

This cute bat is so easy to make! Here’s everything you’ll need and the steps needed to make one. Also check out the Aussie Tiny Tales podcast episode about fruit bats while you make it!

What you’ll need:

  • an empty toilet paper roll
  • card to create wings
  • sticky tape
  • scissors
  • a pencil, pen or marker to draw

How to make it

Step 1:

Draw the shape of your bat wings onto your card in preparation for cutting. Use the stencil above if you need it, or draw it freehand.

Step 2:

Cut the wing shape out of the card.

Step 3:

Using sticky tape, tape the wings to the back of the toilet roll.

Step 4:

Draw the ears, eyes, mouth and fangs of the bat with a marker, crayon, pen or pencil.

Your bat is complete! Enjoy!
